Cardano Blockchain announces its first-ever hackathon in India, “Cardano Codex”, to tap Web3 talent.

New Delhi, India, (30, Nov 2023) — Cardano Blockchain Hackathon India, “Cardano Codex 2023“, invites vibrant Web 3.0 developers from India to participate. The three founding entities of the Cardano blockchain, namely Cardano Foundation, EMURGO, and Input Output Global, support this initiative. Cardano flag bearer Nucast Labs will moderate the hackathon from December 11 through December 30.

The launch of this hackathon aims at onboarding the next 1000 Web3 developers from India by 2024. This initiative is set to redefine the landscape of blockchain development in the country, which is also supported by regional DAOs and developer communities, including Web3 Jaipur, Hyderabad DAO, Web3 Chennai, Kerala DAO, and Web3 Panjab.

The Cardano Codex 2023 Hackathon kicks off with a series of technical and non-technical virtual workshops, all of which will be live-streamed on Cardano’s social media application, Cardano Spot. Developers and project participants are in for a treat as they stand a chance to receive exclusive mentorship from the Hackathon’s flag bearer, Nucast Labs, and Marlowe Devs. Moreover, participants will have access to grant opportunities from the Project Catalyst Fund 12.

What sets Cardano Codex apart is the exclusive training with top mentors and rewards for the winners. The successful developers will receive 10,000 ADA and will also get valuable assistance for their Minimum Viable Products (MVPs). On top of that, hands-on reviews for Fund 12 proposals’ submission for a staggering 50,000,000 ADA (equivalent to USD 19,000,000) grants. As a surprise raffle, two lucky audience members will have the opportunity to win a PlayStation 5 and a 3070 Ti gaming graphic card, respectively.

Charles Hoskinson, Co-Founder of Cardano and Ethereum, has already made an exciting announcement regarding his visit to India in 2024. The Cardano Codex’23 Hackathon perfectly aligns with the visionary goals Hoskinson has set for the Indian Web3 developer community. Meanwhile, EMURGO Academy has been actively contributing to the training of thousands of developers in Cardano blockchain development, consolidating India’s position as the home to the third-largest Web3 developer community globally. EMURGO Academy will be the Education partner for the Cardano Codex Hackathon.

“We are thrilled to bring the Cardano Codex Hackathon to India, a country with immense potential in Web3 development. This initiative reflects our commitment to fostering talent and innovation in the blockchain space. With the support of regional DAOs and developer communities, we aim to create a vibrant ecosystem that drives India to the forefront of Web3 development,” said Sri Charan, Founder and CEO, at Nucast Labs.

The Cardano Codex’23 Hackathon promises to be a transformative event, catalysing the growth of the Web3 developer community in India and laying the foundation for a decentralised and innovative future.
